I Want to Give

Message from the Dean

Vice President for Research/Dean of the Graduate School

Washington State University is on the move. One of our top goals, and the focus of our strategic plan, is to become one of the greatest research universities in the world—one that creates a positive impact on quality of life, and enhances the economy of the state, nation, and the world. We are dramatically intensifying our collective efforts in research and graduate education.

Our faculty and graduate students will lead the way. As they progress in their research, and break through the boundaries of current knowledge, our researchers also teach, engage, and inspire graduate students who will become the next generation of scholars, discoverers, and leaders. With renewed energy, and a relentless drive toward quality, excellence, and accountability, WSU faculty and graduate students are answering some of the world's most complex questions.

Goals

As we build upon the significant progress we have already made, we will seek out new and strategic funding. Our goal is to target the generous investments we receive to make the greatest impact. We will broaden and catalyze new research opportunities that fully engage our graduate students—some of the brightest minds available anywhere.

With your help, we will be able to

  • better fund the discoveries and innovations of individual faculty
  • establish more interdisciplinary collaborations that connect related research and scholarly pursuits
  • increase the direct funding of truly outstanding Ph.D. students who show the greatest potential
  • transform our graduate programs and the level of research conducted at WSU, and to help raise the bar for researchers around the world

We invite you to play whichever role you are able to help us achieve our goals.
